We started our journey in Beijing, the bustling capital where my parents spent their formative years. As we walked through the Forbidden City, they marveled at the intricate architecture and shared stories of their childhood. The Great Wall, an awe-inspiring testament to ancient Chinese ingenuity, left them speechless. We climbed its steep steps, each one carrying the weight of centuries-old history.

From Beijing, we traveled to Xi'an, the ancient heartland of China. The Terracotta Warriors, thousands of life-size terracotta sculptures buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huang, were a sight to behold. My parents wandered among the vast army, their faces filled with wonder and pride. They explained the significance of each warrior, from the archers to the generals, giving me a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient China.

As we ventured further south, we visited the historic city of Shanghai. The towering skyscrapers and modern architecture were a stark contrast to the traditional temples and hutongs we had seen elsewhere. It was here in Shanghai that my parents' eyes truly lit up.
