I. Introduction
China Food Expert Competition is a competition designed to promote Chinese cuisine and discover talented individuals who are passionate about Chinese food. The competition is open to all individuals who are 18 years of age or older and have a passion for cooking Chinese food. The competition will be held in three stages: preliminary round, semi-final round, and final round. The preliminary round will be held online, and the semi-final and final rounds will be held in person. The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize and a chance to represent China in international cooking competitions.
II. Objectives
The objectives of the China Food Expert Competition are to:
Promote Chinese cuisine and discover talented individuals who are passionate about Chinese food.
Provide a platform for individuals to showcase their culinary skills and creativity.
Encourage the development of new and innovative Chinese dishes.
Foster cultural exchange and promote understanding between China and other countries.
III. Format
The competition will be held in three stages: preliminary round, semi-final round, and final round.
Preliminary round
The preliminary round will be held online. Participants will be required to submit a video of themselves cooking a Chinese dish. The videos will be judged by a panel of experts on the basis of the following criteria:
Technical skills
Creativity
Presentation
Taste
The top 20 participants will be selected to advance to the semi-final round.
Semi-final round
The semi-final round will be held in person. Participants will be required to cook two Chinese dishes. The dishes will be judged by a panel of experts on the basis of the following criteria:
Technical skills
Creativity
Presentation
Taste
The top 10 participants will be selected to advance to the final round.
Final round
The final round will be held in person. Participants will be required to cook a three-course Chinese meal. The meal will be judged by a panel of experts on the basis of the following criteria:

Presentation
Taste
The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize and a chance to represent China in international cooking competitions.
IV. Judging criteria
The dishes will be judged on the basis of the following criteria:
Technical skills (30%)
Creativity (30%)
Presentation (20%)
Taste (20%)
V. Prizes
The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize and a chance to represent China in international cooking competitions.
VI. Timeline
The competition will be held from March 1st to June 1st, 2023.
Preliminary round: March 1st - April 1st
Semi-final round: April 15th - April 29th
Final round: May 15th - June 1st
