The China Dietary Guidelines (CDG) were first published in 2016 by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and the Chinese Nutrition Society (CNS). The guidelines are intended to provide evidence-based recommendations for healthy eating to the Chinese population. The CDG is based on the latest scientific evidence and takes into account the unique dietary needs of the Chinese population. One of the key features of the CDG is the MyPlate design, which is a visual representation of the recommended daily intake of different food groups.
The MyPlate design is divided into four sections: grains, vegetables, fruits, and animal foods. The grains section is the largest, and it includes rice, wheat, corn, and other whole grains. The vegetables section includes all types of vegetables, including leafy greens, root vegetables, and legumes. The fruits section includes all types of fruits, fresh, frozen, canned, or dried. The animal foods section includes meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy products.
The CDG recommends that adults eat a variety of foods from all four food groups each day. The recommended intake for each food group is as follows:
Grains: 6-8 servings per day
Vegetables: 5-8 servings per day

The CDG also recommends that adults limit their intake of unhealthy foods, such as processed foods, sugary drinks, and unhealthy fats. The guidelines recommend that adults limit their intake of processed foods to no more than 10% of their daily calories. Adults should also limit their intake of sugary drinks to no more than 2 servings per day.
